NatureFootage License Types

License Types

Rights Managed
The default License Type for all footage submissions upon upload to Cliplog is Rights Managed.

Rights Managed licenses and rates are based on the License Use and Terms of the production.  A Rights Managed license is limited to a single production.  All rates are per second with a either 5 to 10 second minimum per clip (unless otherwise noted) and are prorated per additional second.

Content that is unique, difficult to shoot, rare, or of a higher quality should be logged as Rights Managed.

Royalty Free
Royalty Free licenses allow for use in unlimited productions, and also cover the use of clips in their entirety.  NatureFootage currently offers three Royalty Free licenses, with some use restrictions:

Web, Display and Presentation
Television and Monetization
All Media including Advertising

A Royalty Free license should be reserved for generic footage that can be easily found or replicated.  At the moment, the industry trend is for 4K delivery and Royalty Free licensing.  Content producers still have an interest in HD footage, but with lower expectations for what they're willing to pay.  Unless your HD footage is very unique, (i.e. species, behavior, location, etc.), then we recommend it always be logged as Royalty Free.
