NatureFootage Contributor Demo Reel

Demo Reel

OVERVIEW

We recommend that you submit an edited video demo reel to your Profile Page. The demo reel should capture the attention of potential clients, and as such, should be no longer than 5 minutes.  If you don't have a demo reel at this time, you can also upload a photo still to serve as a Banner image for your Contributor Profile.

To add a Demo Reel or Banner Image to your Contributor Profile Page, login to your NatureFootage account, and click "Edit Profile Page" from your Accounts menu or the "Welcome" page that appears immediately after you login:

Once on the "Edit Profile Page", scroll down and click on the "Upload New Banner & Video" link, located right below the section to update your Profile Picture:

Clicking this link will take you to the "Profile Banner and Video" page, where you can add video or an image to your Contributor Profile.

ADDING A DEMO REEL

There are two ways to add video to your profile: by selecting one of your clips from Cliplog, or by using a YouTube or Vimeo Link.

CLIPLOG CLIP

To use a Cliplog clip as your Profile video, select "Use Banner Video for profile page", then copy and paste your clip's Cliplog code into the empty text box:

We recommend only using your best clips in Cliplog for your profile video, such as clips that feature unique/rare footage or display interesting animal behavior in action.  Make sure to choose a good thumbnail image for your clip in Cliplog, as this is the thumbnail image that will also be displayed on your Profile Page.  Please see the Updating Clip Thumbnail help article for instructions on how to choose thumbnail images for your clips.

If you have uploaded any edited video decor clips to Cliplog to license as a NatureFlix clip, you could also use one of these clips as a profile video.  Video Decor is beautifully crafted edited segments that can be looped on a screen (with or without audio). Examples include montages of scenics (e.g. beaches), exciting animal behavior (e.g. various bird mating displays), animal species highlights (e.g. best Mountain Lion clips), habitat highlights (e.g. best rainforest footage), or even a sequence of footage that tells a story (e.g. a sequence showing a pair of Foxes raising their young kits to adulthood).  Please view the Edited Video or Video Decor Submission Specifications help article for more information on edited content we accept.

Visit the Submission Guide to learn more about uploading footage to Cliplog.

To use a YouTube or Vimeo video as your Profile video, select "Use Link for profile page", then copy and paste YouTube or Vimeo video url into the empty text box:

We recommend only using your best footage as a Profile video, such as clips that feature unique/rare footage or display interesting animal behavior in action.  Make sure to choose a good thumbnail image for your video on YouTube or Vimeo, as this is also the video thumbnail image that will also be displayed on your Profile Page.

UPLOAD A BANNER IMAGE

If you would prefer to display a Banner image instead of video on your Contributor Profile, click on the "Choose File" button to select an image from your computer.  Your still image should be 1280x720, and in either .png or .jpg format.  Once you have selected an image, the image and it's original filename will be displayed on the "Profile Banner and Video" page.  To remove a Banner image from your profile page, click on the "Click Here to Remove Image" button.

Banner images and Cliplog clips can be displayed on your profile page simultaneously, if you wish. Banner images can not be displayed with YouTube or Vimeo videos.

SAVING YOUR UPDATES

On the "Profile Banner and Video" page, after you have added a Cliplog video, YouTube/Vimeo link, click on the "Update Banner" button:

This will take you back to the "Edit Profile Page", where you will see your current Banner image and/or Profile video displayed:

Once you are happy with your updates to your profile, click on the "Update Profile" button at the bottom of the "Edit Profile Page" to save your changes.

Please see the other help articles in our Profile Guide for additional information on making updates to your Contributor Profile page.

Once your Profile page has been completely updated, we recommend that you create backlinks to your Contributor Profile on NatureFootage.  Please see the Contributor Backlinks help article for more information.
