NatureFootage Royalty Payment Details

How Do Royalties Get Paid?

ROYALTY REPORTS

Royalties are paid out quarterly near the end of every third month of the year (March, June, September, December).  We send out a quarterly Royalty Report at this time if royalties are owed to you.  If you do not receive a royalty report, it means that you did not receive any royalties during that specific quarter.

Royalty Reports display the following information:
  1. Each clip that was sold during the quarter, so you will be able to see what content is selling and what our clients have been interested in
  2. The invoice that each clip was licensed for
  3. The license category for each clip (i.e. Television/Documentary, Advertising, etc.)
  4. The amount each clip was licensed for (this is broken down into the full amount the clip was licensed for and how much of that sale is owed to you, the contributor)

ROYALTY PAYMENTS

Royalties are sent via Direct Deposit to bank accounts within the United States, and via Wire Transfer to International bank accounts.  Royalties can only be delivered to Checking or Savings accounts with official banks.  We no longer offer alternate methods, like money service businesses such as PayPal, as an option to delivery royalty payments.  The reason for this is that PayPal has a substantial fee for payments to businesses, and it is a great effort on our end to utilize multiple payment systems for royalties.  Payoneer and Wise (formerly known as TransferWise) are also unacceptable methods for delivering royalty payments.

For contributors who have international bank accounts and will be receiving their royalties via Wire Transfer, royalty payments will be put on hold until the total sum of royalty payments owed to you is at least $50.  If any contributor has a minimum payment threshold set on their account, royalties will not be paid until that threshold is met.

There is also a $10 fee charged for international payments in the USD currency.  Additionally, there may be additional tax treaty fees depending on what country you reside in, so the actual royalty payment amount delivered to your bank account may be less than the amount on the royalty report.

Also please note that when a royalty payment is deposited into your bank account, it may be displayed as being sent from "NatureFootage" or "FootageSearch" (this was our previous company name before it was changed to "NatureFootage").

CLIP STATISTICS

If you would like to view the statistics for the number of times clients have licensed, viewed, or downloaded previews of your clips, you can easily do so on the Clip Statistics and Clip Sales tables.  These tables allow you to assess how much interest your footage is receiving from clients.  To access these tables, sign into your NatureFootage account and follow the View Clip Statistics or View Clip Sales links on your Home page (this page appears immediately after you sign into your account) or under your Accounts menu.

For more information on how to navigate these pages, please see the Clip Statistics and Sales help article.

ROYALTY PAYMENT SURVEY

Click this link to provide us with your Royalty Payment Details if you haven't already done so, or if your banking information has recently changed and needs to be updated.  Please make sure to read the survey instructions carefully.

For the first field "Contributor Prefix", if you are unsure what your prefix is, open Cliplog on your NatureFootage account and review your uploaded clips.  Your Contributor Prefix is the set of letters that are displayed at the beginning of each clip code assigned to clips upon upload to your NatureFootage account.  For example, "ACA" is the Contributor Prefix for the contributor that uploaded clip ACA150304_0001.
