Although there are separate URLs for each of these statistic pages, you can easily access one or the other from without having to click on the other URL. For example, if you are viewing the Clip Statistics page, you will notice that there is a tab you can click on to easily switch to viewing the Clip Sales page, and vice versa:
The "Columns & Sorting" and "Filters & Menus" sections below describe various methods for displaying information in these tables. We highly recommend that you spend some time playing around with the filtering and sorting options made available to you, to help you better understand how to find the information you need about your clips.
Please note that clicking on the "Refresh" button will not reset the table and clear your filters (for information on clearing filters, please review the "Columns & Sorting" and "Filters & Menus" sections below). The "Refresh" button can be used to update a table with new information. For example, if you are viewing the Clip Statistics table, then log some offline clips so that they are now online, and then return to the Clip Statistics table to click the "Refresh" button, the table will update to change the status of your newly logged clips on the table from "Offline" to "Online" in the "Status" column.
If you any questions about your statistics, or if you have questions about how to navigate the table that cannot be answered in the sections below, please contact NatureFootage Contributor Support at:

COLUMNS & SORTING
Each table displays all available columns by default. However, you do have the option to show, hide, or freeze columns. This can be done by clicking on the "More" menu located in the upper right hand corner of the table.
You can also show or hide columns by clicking on the button displaying an image of the columns, which is always located to the left of the column headers.
Columns can also be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking on the "Sort" menu button located in the upper right hand corner of the table, or by clicking on the sorting arrows next to each column header text. Some sorting arrows may not appear unless you are hovering your mouse directly over the column header cell.
There are several different ways to search through & filter the data in these tables to find any specific information you are looking for:
1. "SEARCH DATA" FIELD
The first option is to use the "Search Data" field located in the upper right hand corner of the table. For example, if you shoot ocean footage, and only want to view statistics for your Shark clips, type in the text "Shark", hit the Enter key on your keyboard, and the table will automatically update to display all entries that contain the word "Shark" in any column.
2. COLUMN FILTER MENUS
The second option is to use the Search Filter menus displayed directly above the table columns. These menus contain options to select specific or all data in each column.
You can search for data in these menus to select by typing custom text at the Search field located at the top of almost every menu (not all menus have this option, if there is a limited variety of data in the column, such as the Price column in the Clip Statistics table).
You also have the ability to filter table results by selecting data in more than one menu at a time, as you can see in the example below, where I have filtered the Clip Statistics table using the Submission, License, and Price menus:
If you would like to reset any of these menus back to their default, hover your mouse over the menu and click on the blue "Reset" text that appears:
Or you can click on the "Reset" button directly to the right of the column filter menus.
3. ADVANCED FILTER OPTIONS
The third method for filtering information in the Clip Statistics or Clip Sales tables is to click on the "Filter" button in the upper right hand corner at the top of the table, which brings up more advanced search filter options for each column of the table.
The empty fields are for you to type in custom text, and the menus above each field contain options on how you would like the column to display information based on that text. For example, let's say I want to filter the Description column so that the table displays clips that do not contain the word "Shark" in their Description. I then type the word "Shark" into the empty field in the Description column, and from the menu right above it, I choose the option "Does Not Contain". Then I click on the "Apply" button in the bottom left hand corner of the Advanced Filter panel to update the table to display clips that do not contain "Shark" in their Description. If you would like to reset the table, you can click on the "Clear" button right next to "Apply".
To hide these advanced filters while preserving the results of your filtering, you can click on the "Hide" button displayed on the bottom left hand side of the Advanced Filter panel. To close the Advanced Filters panel altogether and reset the table, click on the "X" button displayed on the bottom left hand side of the Advanced Filter panel.
To copy information in any of the table cells, simply click on a cell & hit Ctl+C on your keyboard to copy the cell information.
To download the information currently visible in the table, click on the Download button located in the upper right hand corner of the table and select an export format option. A side panel will appear with additional download options for you to choose from. When you are ready to save your file, click on the "Export" button at the bottom of the panel.
The download tool is especially useful if you need to log footage in Cliplog, especially for Metadata Import. In the Clip Statistics table, use the "Submission" menu or the "Search Data" field to find all clips from the submission you need to log, then export the list of all clips in the submission (Make sure that the "Code" and "Original Filename" columns are visible before exporting). If you are logging footage via our Metadata Import Spreadsheet, make sure to choose either the CSV or Excel export formats, as you can then easily copy and paste the clip codes from your exported file into the metadata spreadsheet's "Code" column.
For more information on logging clips via metadata import, please see the
Metadata Import Sheet help article.
VIEW CLIP STATISTICS
Even though there is no "Year Submission" or "Submission" column on this table, please note that you can still filter the table to only view clips from a specific year or submission by using the "Year Submission" or "Submission" filter menus.
This table provides data on the number of views and preview downloads per clip since upload to Cliplog (see the "Views" and "Downloads" columns). Please note that preview download stats are not a direct indication of sales activity. NatureFootage has a lot of site visitors, including the general public, school kids, etc. Preview downloads are available to anyone on the site, not just our purchasing clients.
The data in the "Clip Sales" column indicates the number of times a clip has been licensed.
If a clip's Original Filename cell is empty, that means we do not have that particular clip's original filename stored in our system, and that the clip was uploaded prior to 2015. NatureFootage did not start storing original filenames in Cliplog until January of 2015.
VIEW CLIP SALES
The statistics on this page are organized into sections by Year & Quarter, displaying the most recent year and quarter at the top by default. The information in this table is identical to the clip sales information that is contained in the quarterly Royalty Reports that are sent out at the end of each quarter to contributors who have made sales. For more information on Royalty Reports, please see this help article:
How Do Royalties Get Paid?
The License Fee is the total amount that your clip was licensed for, and the Royalty is the amount of that fee that was paid to you, the contributor. The Royalty column also includes the total sum of your royalties for that quarter. Please note that the Clip Sales table only displays sections for the Years & Quarters when a sale of your footage was made.
Please also note that since NatureFootage handles both Royalty Free and Rights Managed licensing, not all of our sales are immediate online sales via the website. Sales stats will only be updated near the end of each quarter just before royalty payments are sent out. Automated sales notifications are more challenging to implement for a Rights Managed workflow. Some clients require months of hand holding, research, price negotiations and custom license terms before they will purchase footage for their productions. Often after a license is complete, the client will make changes, swap clips, and adjust durations based on final use in a program. It is much easier for websites that only sell Royalty Free clips via online purchase to provide immediate sales statistics.
